Bungalows

Each bungalow has a size of about 30 m², a private bathroom with shower with large shower head and additional hand shower, double sink and toilet. Towels and bath mats are provided. You sleep in a king size bed with warm comforter (an extra bed of standard size is possible). In addition, the bungalow is furnished with a table and two chairs, wardrobe, shelf for storing a suitcase, two bedside tables and floor mats made of natural material. A small covered balcony with railing with table function at the entrance and a large balcony (about 10 m²) with railing are available. The double bed can be pushed onto the large balcony. From both balconies you have a view of the Ngorongoro Crater wall or over the vastness around the village of Karatu. A wooden walkway leads directly from the restaurant across the garden to the front door. Mosquito nets are attached to the sliding windows. Drinking water is provided in the room. We use solar power, have hot water and offer room service.

Family Tents

The luxurious tents are each about 60 m² and have a spacious bathroom with shower with large shower head and additional hand shower, double sink, bath mat and separate toilet. The two rooms of each Tent are equipped with a king size bed in one room and a queensize- and single bed in the other room (a standard size extra bed is also possible). The comforters are nice and warm and there is an additional large blanket for each bed. There are one or two nightstands by the bed. The two rooms are furnished with a small table with two chairs, a round table with four chairs, two wardrobes and two shelves for storing suitcases. The floor mats made of natural material harmonize very well with the beautiful wooden floor. The long side of the tent is completely equipped with sliding glass doors. In addition, there is the possibility to open several large tent windows with mosquito nets. The huge terrace (about 40 m²) along the entire length of each family tent offers a magnificent view of the Ngorongoro Crater wall. A wooden walkway leads from the restaurant directly to the terrace. Drinking water is provided in the room. We use solar power, have hot water and offer room service.

Honey Tree House

The tree house is accessible via an easily walkable suspension bridge and is something very special. Because it’s not just a plain house—it’s a fancy tent with a special roof made of Zanzibar grass and a large panoramic window front that floods the approx. 25 m² room with light. 

In a tent you feel much closer to nature and yet you do not have to give up any comfort. Equipped with hot shower, toilet, couch and a large double bed, the tree house is perfect to spend romantic hours for two. 

What can’t be missing at Foresight, of course, is a magnificent view. The well-kept wooden balcony is huge and you have a fantastic view across Karatu to the Mbulu Mountains. The comfortable king size bed can be pushed onto the balcony to enjoy the view and the overwhelming starry sky for two.

Honey Box House

Inspired by our Tiny House, we have developed a special little house made of wood and lots of glass. Like the Tiny House, on clear nights you can admire the stars from your bed through the plexiglass roof. The rectangular cottage is bright and friendly and has a large panoramic glass front. The view is fantastic by day and night: during the day you can see beyond Karatu to the Mbulu Mountains, at night you can enjoy the many lights of the surroundings and of course the starry sky! 

As a special feature, you can push the comfortable king size bed onto the spacious balcony, as in almost all of our cottages. On the beautiful balcony you can also relax in the deck chair or a hammock and enjoy the nature and surroundings. 

The spacious wooden cabin is equipped with a double vanity, hot shower and toilet. Grass mats for the floor make the bathroom cozy and towels are of course provided. Mosquito nets are on the windows and windows and roof are equipped with curtains.

Glamping in our Tiny Houses

A very special feature of our Tiny Houses is the balcony with a fantastic view over Karatu to the “Mbulu Mountains”! One of the Tiny Houses has two hinged doors with plexiglass that can be opened upwards and serve as a roof for the balcony. The living area then flows smoothly into the balcony and the beds can be pushed onto the balcony if desired. Small shelves and cute details add to the comfort and cosiness. When you book our sweet little house, you will of course enjoy all the pleasures our beautiful lodge has to offer: You will enjoy the best food (full board) in our wonderful and stylish restaurant with a fantastic view of the Ngorongoro Crater rim. In the evening, you can watch “African TV”, which means the evening around the campfire of the fancy fireplace. Our staff will do their utmost to make your stay with us a relaxing and comfortable one.

Back to the Tiny Houses. We would like to tell you how we came up with the crazy idea of building such little houses in Africa: Surely it has not escaped your notice that our goal is to support the surrounding community. Especially the primary school nearby and later our own school we want to support not only financially, but also with man- and women-power. We actually built this cottages for the guests who want to stay with us for a longer period of time and support the society and the school on a voluntary basis. We support the idea of volunteering by offering affordable accommodation. For a longer stay in one of this cute little houses we offer special conditions on request.
