Business created to support people
“Foresight” is not exactly a common name for a lodge. But it fits us perfectly:
If you translate “Foresight” into German language, it has two meanings: On the one hand, “an unobstructed view at a great distance.” This fits perfectly to the view to the north of the Ngorongoro Crater and even better to the view to the south over the impressive expanse of land around Karatu.
On the other hand, foresight means the ability to foresee or prepare wisely for the future. And that is what drives us. Foresight for our society and planet to operate the lodge sustainably and pay and handle our employees fairly. And especially our vision, which is already taking shape, namely to build and run our own school with the income generated by the lodge. A school that supports the Society. A school that gives children from poor backgrounds a good education. And thus gives the families a chance to free themselves from extreme poverty. And also a school that welcomes our guests to get new impressions and inspiration.

Our Powerful Team
Just as diverse as the country of Tanzania is our wonderful team. From the Maasai to the Iraqw tribe to the “Mzungu” (that means the white person in Swahili), we have very different people with different backgrounds. Each one has his or her own strengths and talents, which they bring to our heart’s project. As different as we all are, we all have something in common: Together we carry and pursue the values and the vision of Foresight Eco Lodge with great commitment and joy.
Anita Vogler
Hi, my name is Anita. By nature I am an entrepreneur with heart and soul. But in 2019 I sold my business, went on a world trip with my family, supported a school in Tanzania with volunteer work and donations. And now we have built a beautiful, small lodge with the real purpose of empowering and supporting needy people in Tanzania.
Ernest Challangi
Jambo! My name is Ernest and I was born and raised in the highlands of the Ngorongoro area. I am proud of the diversity of my country, which is why I have been working full time in the tourism industry for over 14 years. By diversity of the country I mean the natural and animal world as well as the culture and the people. It is very important to me to inspire the tourists as well as to support the society. In the meantime, with our own small lodge, I can wholeheartedly support both.
In our minds, the team refers not only to the people who work for us. We understand the team as the totality of all the people who spend time at our lodge. Everyone is a part of the community that spends time together and shares memories. Everyone can give something, is given gifts and can learn new things or meet interesting people. The mere stay at our lodge supports our vision, so every single visitor and staff member is part of our powerful team.
Our Vision & Values
Love Life & Make a Difference
We love life, we love to experience, to discover new things and to expand our horizons. We love to give, to change something for the better and to make others happy, because that fills us with joy. And we love special encounters—encounters that touch the heart. Here closes the circle: Aren’t the moments of joy, the moments that touch us and make our hearts leap, the ones that make life really worth living?
This love of life and the joy of making a difference with one’s own existence—no matter how small—is what drives us. It fulfills and inspires us, and it gives us the necessary energy to get going on our venture!
True to our values “Joy, Empowerment, Connectedness, Love, Freedom and impact / effectiveness” we formulate our vision as follows:
We empower people to love their lives & make a difference.
